Role Description – Director of Operations, Santa Maria, CA (on-site) – Full-time
As a Director of Operations, you will report directly to the Site General Manager. This position will provide leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the Santa Maria site has the proper operational controls, reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operation Management:
- Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the site.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement plans based upon the Company’s goals, objectives, and KPI’s. Monitor performance to plan and implement appropriate actions as necessary.
- Establishes detail planning of manufacturing sequences and furnishes detail operating instructions to production personnel.
- Lead the development, communication, and implementation of growth strategies.
- Represent the Company with clients and business partners.
Management and Development of People:
- Provides leadership and direction throughout the manufacturing organization
- Maintains high personal standards and continually sets an example of professionalism throughout the company.
- Sets clear and reasonable expectations, providing tools and training to ensure success.
- Regularly communicates company and departmental direction and objectives.
Financial Management:
- Understands the key performance indicators that leverage the business.
- Develops, manages and approves department budgets and expenditures.
- Responsible for driving the Company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives.
Other Contributions:
- Leads Continuous Improvement and lean activities of diverse scope and complexity to improve the efficiency of systems and processes at the designated site.
- Support facility-wide flow of product family and future state development / implementation.
- Responsible for maximizing efficiently of facility layout as measured by revenue per square foot.
- Create, validate and implement visual standard work across operation.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering or operations management).
Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years of aerospace/manufacturing experience in a management capacity.
- Proven ability to implement Lean Management Systems.
- Analytical based problem solving skills.
- Experience in a high mix, low volume environment.
- Strong verbal communication and experience facilitating team-based process improvement activities.
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification, preferred.
Salary scale for the job: $118,000 - $198,000.
